20 questions
One gymnast, one choreographer, one team manager, 30 7th grade students, and a whole lot of questions equals a handstand contest! After a small display for 200 students at the International Community School, ICS, in Zurich a 7th grade class had the opportunity to ask three members of the team exactly what they wanted.
Workshops and cultural exchange
The team is right now in Switzerland staying with Danish host families. Many of the host families have children at the ICS and the gymnasts spent a whole day at the school performing and giving workshops.
How long can they do a handstand?
A forest of hands appeared, when the children were asked to question gymnast Søren Bredahl, choreographer Stinna Shaktiva and team manager Anders Liengaard. The questions were very different and challenged even a well travelled choreographer with questions such as; where do you get your inspirations from, and why do you have a passion for teaching gymnastics?
Gymnast Søren Bredahl told the students that even though they worked hard and trained up to eight hours a day, they still have a lot of fun. He also answered questions about, for how long he has been doing gymnastics, if it it’s a though job and…”how old are you, how do you learn the whole programme, has there been any serious injuries, how many team members are there, how many different countries have you been to, and did you all know each other before you became a team?
When one of the students asked, how long a gymnast can hold a handstand, they had to have proof, which resulted in a small hand stand contest between five gymnasts.
